Dr. Soniah Bigie Moloi

Dr. Moloi is a dedicated and high performing Director and Consultant Cardiologist with a particular interest in Echocardiogram (Transthoracic and Oesophageal) and Exercise Stress Echocardiogram and Dobutamine Stress Echocardiogram.
Dr. Moloi is also a Senior Lecturer with James Cook University and lead in ECHOLAB at Townsville University Hospital. He is currently Acting Director of Cardiology at Townsville University Hospital and is Head of Cardiology Registrar Training. Dr. Moloi is an examiner with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
He received his undergraduate Medical Degree from University of Newcastle Australia, in 2004 and proceeded to work as a junior medical officer in various hospitals including Gosford, Wollongong and St Vincent Hospital in NSW. He is a Fellow of the Australasian college of Physicians (FRACP), Fellow of Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, board certified in adult echocardiography in the USA and holds a level A certificate in CT coronary angiography.
Dr. Moloi specialises in multimodality imaging with expertise in complex echocardiography including transthoracic echo (Including 3D ECHO and strain), exercise stress ECHO, dobutamine stress echo, transoesophageal echo (including peri-operative TOE, in valve surgery, TAVI and Shunt closure).
Dr. Moloi manages a wide range of cardiac diseases including valvular heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathies, simple and complex coronary artery disease, difficult to treat hypertension and all forms of arrhythmias. His research interest includes valvular disease, cardiomyopathies and cardio-oncology.
Dr. Eng is a general and interventional cardiologist with special interest in structural intervention. He is experienced in treating a wide range of cardiac conditions including coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, heart failure, cardiomyopathies, preventive cardiology for patients with cardiovascular risk factors and many others.
Dr. Eng received his advanced cardiology training in Queensland, Townsville University Hospital and Princess Alexandra Hospital after completion of physician training in United Kingdom. He undertook his first interventional fellowship at the Townsville University Hospital and went on to complete a two-year interventional and structural fellowship at the prestigious institutions, Vancouver General and St Paul Hospitals, Canada under the supervision of world experts in interventional cardiology.
Dr. Eng is the cardiology lead in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) program in Townsville University Hospital, offering surgery-sparing treatment for patients with aortic stenosis. He performs coronary angiography, simple and complex coronary angioplasty and stenting, coronary imaging and physiology assessment, right heart catheterisation and catheter-based structural interventions such as patent foramen ovale and septal defect device closure.
Dr. Eng is a locally and internationally trained cardiologist who is dedicated to improve the cardiac care in the community. He plays active roles in shaping the development of junior doctors.

Cardiologist
Dr. Sophie Offen is an Interventional and Structural Cardiologist consulting and operating at Mater Private Hospital Townsville.
She graduated with First Class Honours in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney in 2011 and completed her training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Royal Prince Alfred and St Vincent’s Hospitals in Sydney in 2018.
In 2023, Dr. Offen was awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) for her postgraduate research into tricuspid valve disease. She then went on to complete 3-years of advanced interventional Fellowship training in coronary and valvular heart disease at leading centres in Vancouver, Canada, gaining extensive experience in minimally invasive, cutting-edge transcatheter techniques.
Since returning to Australia, Dr. Offen now serves as a Staff Specialist in Interventional Cardiology and leads the rapidly growing Structural Heart Program at Townsville University Hospital.
She is highly skilled in a broad range of interventional procedures, including coronary angiography and stenting, right heart catheterisation, intracoronary imaging and physiology assessment, calcium modification techniques, and complex coronary interventions.
Dr. Offen’s special interest lies in the management of valvular or structural heart disease, in particular the use of minimally invasive transcatheter techniques. These include transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), valve-in-valve procedures (aortic, mitral, tricuspid), mitral and tricuspid valve repair (MitraClip/TriClip), and closure of PFO/ASD’s.

With over 7 years of experience across diverse areas in the medical field, Kayley brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Townsville Cardiovascular Group. Having worked in specialties such as renal, general medicine, geriatric care and vascular, Kayley is dedicated to providing exceptional support to ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.
Outside of work, Kayley is a proud parent of three children and enjoys spending time away from the office with family, whether its holidays or engaging in outdoor activities. Her dedication to work-life balance ensures they bring energy and focus to both their personal and professional lives.

Codi joined Townsville Cardiovascular Group in January 2024 and plays a key role in ensuring your visit runs smoothly from start to finish. She is your first point of contact for scheduling appointments and procedures, and you’ll be greeted by her warm smile when you arrive at the clinic. With a focus on providing exceptional care and support, Codi is dedicated to making your experience at Townsville Cardiovascular Group as seamless and positive as possible.
